My name is Evan, and I am a funeral director at a busy funeral home in the Midwestern United States. I have found that many loved ones want to personalize the funeral experience, but they simply don't know how. I am going to outline some ways that you can make a funeral unique to the person you are celebrating. From dramatic readings to favorite music to decorated caskets, the only limit is your imagination when it comes to planning the perfect funeral. I hope your mind will be open to the possibilities the next time you are in the unfortunate situation of having to plan a funeral.

Four Logos To Consider Having Laser Engraved On A Monument

Christina Clarke

When you have a graveside monument for a departed loved one laser engraved, you may like the idea of using this technology to have the person's portrait placed onto the headstone. For those who visit the cemetery to pay their respects in the months and years ahead, it can be a comfort to see the person's face engraved on the stone. There are some other things you might want to think about if you're considering laser etching a monument, either instead of a portrait or in addition to one. Here are four suggestions.

Family Coat Of Arms

Lots of people take a considerable amount of pride in their family's lineage, and having the family's coat of arms engraved onto the monument may be appropriate for such an individual. This is ideal if the person has had this logo on a plaque hanging in his or her home. If the person has taken a married surname, you may want to think about coats of arms for both the person's birth name and married name.

Armed Services

For a veteran of the armed services, it's often appropriate to have the logo of the appropriate branch engraved on the monument. Whether they served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, the person would almost certainly appreciate having this logo above his or her final resting place.

Service Club

Many longtime service club members are deeply passionate about the work that they do in the community through their club. Sometimes, a person may belong to the same service club for multiple decades, and this can be an ideal scenario in which to have the service club's logo engraved onto the headstone. Examples of service clubs for which this idea can be suitable includes the Lions Club, Rotary Club, Civitan Club, and others.

Company Logo

In select cases, it may be appropriate to place the logo of a company on the person's monument. For example, if the person founded a company and was very proud of doing so, it will often be the case that the company was a part of the person's identity. Seeing the company's logo on the headstone may also be nice for former coworkers who visit the grave site in the future. There are potentially other logos that you may wish to consider; all you need to do is provide a high-quality image of the logo, and your engraver will be able to make it a part of the monument.
